Paris in February : Valentina G. Levy


Valentina Gioia Levy was our résident in February 2016. She is an independent curator based in Rome. She teaches History of Contemporary Art and Design at Accademia Italiana and is the director of the Visual Arts section of the Festival of Villa Ada in Rome. She is currently one of the guest curators of the forthcoming Dakar Biennale. Since 2010, she has collaborated with museums and galleries such as: the Pompidou Centre (Paris, France); MACRO, Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome (Rome, Italy); The Japan Foundation; MOG, Museum of Goa (Goa, India) and Kochi Muziris Biennale (Kerala, India); the European Cultural Centre and Venice Biennale (Venice, Italy); DARB 1718 (Cairo, Egypt) and OFF Biennale Cairo (Cairo, Egypt); Art Direct o.s. (Prague, CZE) and Creative Europe, the European Union program for cultural and creative sectors. In 2014, she coordinated a curatorial program for the National Museum of Oriental Art in Rome which presented key Asian artistic practices. Our traditionnal performance diner started with a presentation of works by NYC based Guerrilla Art Action Group (GAAG) artist Jon Hendricks. The rest, as always, is confidential.
